Whatever your heart can dream up will come true when incorporating The Courtyard as a beautiful backdrop to your wedding day. We are ready for any ideas or dreams you want to throw our way!

We are giving out some of our favorite decor ideas we have seen through the seasons to inspire your plan along with frequently asked questions. As you begin the first page of the next chapter in your amazing love story, let’s start with the planning process!

Decor

The Courtyard contains a lot of natural charm and has decorative features such as columns, an accent brick wall, a fountain (that has recently undergone an update!), and lastly lush greenery. Definitely take a moment and think about how your decor can highlight the features that you and your soon-to-be spouse fell in love with during your tour! Consider these design ideas:

  • Drape the columns with fabric

  • Add flower and greenery garlands to the columns

  • Hang a chandelier or decorative object between the columns

  • Hang a wreath, cross, or decorative piece on the accent brick wall

  • Add standing decor like an arbor or moon gate

  • Frame the columns with large floral arrangements

  • Utilize string lights, ribbons, balloons

  • Line the aisle with flower petals, lanterns or vintage rugs

  • Dress up the chairs with flowers or greenery

  • Mix things up with different chairs

  • Display personalized wedding signage

FAQ’s

  • Are we allowed to bring in decor?
Absolutely! You are more than welcome to bring your own unique event decor! The decor must be installed & removed during your rental period. For more guidelines on this please refer to the Wedding Guide or ask our Venue & Catering Specialist to ensure all of the elements you are wanting to incorporate are approved. We are happy to advise on what we have seen work really well for decor in our space.

  • What else should I know about decor?

    • The columns are approximately 9 ½ feet tall and have an expanse of 8 feet between each column.

    • There is a screw mounted in the brick accent wall.

    • Please use only fresh petals for decor or tossing.

    • Considering adding enhancements like draping, outdoor lighting, heaters or fans? We can help, just ask for a quote!

  • How many guests can we seat?
Within the Courtyard ceremony location, we can seat up to 200 guests. 100 guests fit on the top platform.

  • Do we need a microphone for courtyard ceremonies?
It is recommended to have a microphone for outdoor ceremonies. Your DJ or live musicians can provide sound equipment for this purpose. There are several power outlets available.

  • Do you allow pets for ceremonies?
Yes - we love your furry family too!

  • Is there a weather backup plan for outdoor ceremonies?
We will discuss an inclement weather plan during your planning meeting for all outdoor ceremonies. If inclement weather is approaching, we will be in touch the week of the wedding to finalize a decision. While we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your wishes, we have learned it is best to decide as early as possible to alleviate the uncertainty and added stress. Please keep in mind DJs and musicians cannot use their equipment in any rain. We will provide one complimentary reset to accommodate moving inside due to bad weather. Each event will be considered on an individual basis. Management reserves the right to make a final decision on ceremony location based upon weather conditions and safety.

We see some of our couples choose to highlight the natural surroundings of The Courtyard by keeping the decor extremely simple and letting the space speak for itself. Other couples love to go all out and embellish the space with elaborate decor and pulling out all the stops. For other couples getting married indoors, the Courtyard is a gorgeous backdrop for photos or cocktail hour!

At the end of the day the choice is yours to dream up! We are so very excited to help plan and be a part of your Greensboro, NC wedding day where we hope it’s better than your wildest dreams!
